it sucks, though. you put everything you’ve got into some thing or someone, so it’s hard to think badly of it or to want to cut that line. you want it to work, you want it to be good, so you poison yourself trying to make it happen. it’s the worst feeling finding out the person you had trust and faith in actually is the complete opposite. someone whom you wished broke the stereotypes and was actually a genuinely “good person”. the sad fact is that nice guys really don’t finish first. the bad guys are too busy manipulating their way to the top.
